Readstone Environment Group: People's Emergency Briefing Film showing at Village Hall

30th of April, 2026

You might have heard about the National Emergency Briefing last November.   Readstone Environment Group (REG) aim to show a film based on the briefing in the hope that the community in all its forms will rally together to start to tackle these pressing issues. Some people on the councils may remember that Penny Galpin and myself came to talk to both PC's a few years ago to try to get something like this off the ground. Yes, the problems are huge but if we all try then something may get started that turns into something bigger.

 NEXT WEEK

PEOPLE’S EMERGENCY BRIEFING FILM.

Friday May 8th @ 7pm. Read Village Hall.

Some background.  In November 2025, the National Emergency Briefing brought together leading experts to present the latest evidence on the climate and nature crisis to politicians and other influential people in Westminster. That evidence is now on the public record. Chaired by Berners Lee, eight leading experts discussed the crises affecting food supply, health and national security. In his address to the audience Chris Packham emphasised the urgency of the situation AND the need for urgent action.

The aim of this film - based on the briefing is to bring together people in their local communities across the UK to hear the evidence and discuss how to respond. Many local communities are screening this film.
